D2 Football Media Poll

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester Universities football program broke into the top 25 of the D2 Football Coaches poll, as they are now ranked 24
th in the D2 Football Coaches Poll. The Golden Rams also climbed to the 20
th spot in the D2 Football Media Poll.

Northwest Missouri St. retained the top spot in the football Coaches poll while Ferris State jumped one spot to earn the No. 2 position. Texas A&M-Commerce, Shepherd (WV.), and Cal. (Pa) rounded out the top five. Northwest Missouri also grabbed the top spot in the D2Football.Com poll with Ferris State, A&M Commerce, Shepherd and IUP (Pa.) rounding out the top five of the media poll.

The Golden Rams enter off a decisive win over Bentley University by a final score of 51-9. This was the largest margin of victory in a season opener for the Golden Rams since they defeated Lock Haven 43-0 back in 2007.

So., QB Paul Dooley had a big night as he went 12-15 for 183 yard and three touchdowns to lead the Golden Rams to victory. West Chester's offense was hard to stop on Thursday night as they scored on six of their first eight possessions.

The Golden Rams' defense also stood tall as they only yielded 213 yards of total offense to Bentley in this contest with Bentley's only touchdown of the game coming in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

IUP (Pa.) and Cal (Pa.) are the only other PSAC schools appearing in the top 25 of both the Coaches and Media polls.

The Golden Rams next game will be Saturday the 9
th when they travel to Slippery Rock getting underway at 6 pm.
