TAMPA, Fla. - Former West Chester University tight end,
Tim Brown (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby), signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers it was announced Monday afternoon following the 2016 NFL Draft, which took place over the weekend.
Brown, who finished up his college career last fall with the Golden Rams, caught 106 passes for 1,932 yards and 27 touchdowns in his career. Along the way he set most of the school records for a tight end, previously held by former Minnesota Vikings TE Joe Senser. The Buccaneers list Brown as a fullback and plan to use the Division II All-American in an H-Back role during spring and summer mini camps.
It marks the second straight year that a West Chester football player has signed a free agent contract following the NFL Draft. Last year, former DB Al-Hajj Shabazz signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He eventually found his way to Tampa Bay as well and appeared in a couple of preseason games in August for the Buccaneers. Shabazz is currently under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
