QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - West Chester University dropped a 3-2 decision to Millersville in an elimination game of the 2016 PSAC Tournament Thursday morning.
West Chester (47-7) will await the NCAA Division II Softball Selection Show on Monday, May 2 at 10 a.m. to see when and where its season will continue.
Millersville (28-18) broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, after West Chester had tied the game in the top half of the inning. MU hurler Brianna Andraos (17-10) defeated West Chester for the third time this season, tossing a four-hitter to pick up the win and advance the Marauders in the loser's bracket to the 2:45 p.m. game against Lock Haven.
Laura Altenburger (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy), Madison Kelly (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Sarah Walasavage (Minersville, Pa./Minersville) and
Monica Twardowski (Boothwyn, Pa./Padua Academy) picked up the four hits for the Golden Rams.
Amanda Houck (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) (16-4) suffered the loss inside the circle for the Rams. She allowed three runs on four hits, walked three and struck out eight in six innings of work.
