NEW YORK – West Chester University senior DE
Andrew Cohen (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was named to the 2015 Associated Press Little All-America squad it was announced Thursday afternoon.
Â
Cohen, who has already reaped his fair share of postseason honors, adds yet another accolade to his trophy case with the announcement of the AP Little All-America team, which is made up of NCAA Division II and III players, along with NAIA players.
Â
Cohen, who was also a national finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award and the Cliff Harris Award, finished up a stellar college career this past fall by breaking the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) all-time record for sacks. He registered 13.5 sacks this season, leading the PSAC in that category, along with leading the league in tackles for a loss (20).
Cohen, who was also named the PSAC Eastern Division defensive player of the year and was a D2CCA All-Super Region 1 first team selection, broke the conference record for career sacks with 33.5. His 13.5 sacks this past fall ranked fifth nationally. His 20 tackles for a loss ranked 17th nationally as well. He is a three-time All-PSAC East selection and a two-time first team pick. He was also named first team All-ECAC this week.
It marks the fourth straight year that West Chester University has been represented on one of the three AP Little All-America squads. Last year, Sean McCartney was a third team selection, and the two previous years it was Rondell White (first team) and Ronell Williams (first team).
