PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Katie Walston scored 35 points, and Nicole Benedetti added 25 points on five trys, as visiting West Chester defeated Temple, 111-0, in a Mason-Dixon Conference women's rugby match Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (1-0) opened its season in impressive fashion with the dominating win. Walston posted three trys and 10 conversions, setting a school record for points in a single game and conversions in a single game.
Sophia Schwab added 15 points on three trys while Arielle Gantt added a pair of trys. In all, eight different Golden Rams recorded a try in the win.
West Chester returns to action on Oct. 4 against James Madison University.
