West Chester Drops Heartbreaker In PSAC Tournament

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – Indiana (Pa.) Jasa Mitchell hit a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Crimson Hawks to a come-from-behind 7-5 victory over West Chester and into the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament at Veterans Park late Friday night.
 
Megan Kelly hit a three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning that put West Chester ahead 5-1. However, IUP responded with a two-run blast in the bottom of the sixth and then the three-run shot in the seventh. The Golden Rams committed three errors in the field in the last two innings, leaving the door open for the Hawks, who scored six unearned runs for the win.
 
West Chester (36-19) will wait for the NCAA Tournament selection show on Monday to see when and if its 2014 season continue.
