Box Score QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – Shippensburg's Emily Estep kept West Chester hitters off balance all night as the Golden Rams dropped an 8-3 decision to the Raiders in the second round of the PSAC Tournament late Thursday night.
West Chester (35-18) fell into the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will play Gannon University in an elimination game Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Shippensburg advances to the winner's bracket final against California (Pa.) at 6 p.m.
Laura Altenburger hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, but it was a little too little and a little too late.
Kim Murl (17-8), making her second start of the night, lasted just one inning, yielding three runs on six hits. Katie Erb came on and pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on five hits. McSpadden finished up the rest of the way.
J.P. Norris had two hits for the Golden Rams.
