West Chester Women Fall To No. 25 Edinboro In PSAC Semifinals

EDINBORO, Pa.  – Brittany Sicinski scored a team-high 26 points, and Dallas Ely added 16, but visiting West Chester fell to No. 25 and host Edinboro, 104-82, in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference semifinal game inside McComb Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (19-9) saw its season come to a close with the loss while Edinboro (23-5) advances to the title game Sunday afternoon. Tip for the PSAC Women's Basketball Championship Game will be 1 p.m. and will be televised on PCN.
 
Edinboro advances to take on Gannon, who defeated Bloomsburg in the other semifinal.
 
The Fighting Scots never trailed in the game, after jumping out to an 11-2 advantage in the first four minutes. West Chester battled back and eventually tied the game at 13-13 with 13:29 left in the first half. However, Edinboro scored the next 13 points of the game, and West Chester struggled to get the deficit into single digits the rest of the afternoon.
 
The Golden Rams did crawl back to within five points (83-76) with just over five minutes left in the game. Sicinski scored eight straight points over a two-minute span to cut into a 13-point deficit. Edinboro then went on an 11-0 run to restore its double-digit lead.
 
Anna Kuntz added 13 points and Kendall Benovy contributed 12 points for the Golden Rams.
 
Lauren Hippo scored a game-high 29 points for Edinboro. Aignee Freeland and Darche` Jackson each added 21 points.
