Four Gymnasts will Represent West Chester in the 2013 USA Gymnastics Championships

SHREVEPORT, La. – West Chester University will send four women’s gymnasts to compete in the 2013 USA Gymnastics National Championships hosted by Centenary College in Shreveport, La., April 12-14. 

Senior, Kaley LeFleur will be the veteran of the team as she makes her fourth and final appearance at the championships.  Joining her will be senior Melissa Voskian, sophomore Melissa Prisco, who are both  competing on the vault. Freshman, Meghan Brannon, who is highly ranked on the uneven bars, will be competing on the bars as well.

Brannon and LeFleur are both Seminole, Fla. natives who both trained at the same gymnasium back home. 

LeFleur, who received All-America honors in the 2012 Championships on the beam with a score of 9.675, will be competing in the all-around this year. Voskian, who is returning to the tournament for the second time in her four-year career, recently placed fourth at the ECAC Championships on March 23, scoring a 9.55 on the vault.

As for the sophomore and freshman, Prisco and Brannon, this will be their first appearance on the national stage.  Brannon, who has an average of 9.68 on the bars, placed fourth at the ECAC Championships with a score of 9.75. Prisco, along with Voskian, has been leading the pack for the Golden Rams this year on the vault. 

The three-day competition begins Friday, April 12 at 12 p.m. inside the Gold Dome at Centenary College with two semifinal team sessions. The individual events final will take place on Friday beginning at 11 a.m.
