Men's Track Runner-Up At Collegeville Classic Indoor Meet

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.
- West Chester University's men's track squad placed second out of 17 schools at the Collegeville Classic on the campus of Ursinus College Friday night in the team's first competition since the winter break.

PSAC power East Stroudsburg won the meet with 117 points. However, West Chester's men showed they can compete with one of the top track & field programs in the conference.

The Golden Rams dominated the 60-meter hurdles with Mark van Teyens winning the event in a time of 8.63 seconds and teammates Ryan Karli (8.75) and Ryan Brown (8.83) placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Jay Jabat won the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 6 inches while LaQuan Chapman won the long jump with a leap of 22-6. Eric Hunter was second in the pole vault, getting over 14-11. Joey DeCecco placed third in the high jump behind Jabat, clearing 6-2.

Cross Country star Zack Musselman was third in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 31.79 seconds.

West Chester travels to Bucknell University next Friday and Saturday for the Bison Open & Multi's.
