PSAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll Video
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester University’s men’s basketball squad was selected second in the annual Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference preseason coaches’ poll released Thursday afternoon as part of the loop’s media day.
West Chester received one first-place vote and came in behind last year’s defending division and conference champion, and preseason favorite once again, East Stroudsburg, who received the other seven first-place votes. Golden Rams senior guard Jon Breeden was selected to the PSAC East preseason all-league team as well.
Following East Stroudsburg and West Chester, who both appeared in the 2011 PSAC Championship Game one year ago, is Bloomsburg, Kutztown, Millersville, Mansfield, Shippensburg and Cheyney.
Joining Breeden on the all-league preseason team were Terrance King and Duane Johnson from East Stroudsburg, Dontahe Jordan from Bloomsburg, Joe Bell from Mansfield and Micah Fraction from Kutztown.
Out West, Indiana (Pa.) was picked to win the Western Division. Slippery Rock, Gannon, Edinboro, California (Pa.), Mercyhurst, Clarion and Lock Haven rounded out the Western Division poll.
West Chester will take on Illinois in an exhibition Nov. 4 out in Champagne, Ill. The Golden Rams also have a pair of scrimmages scheduled before they open up the regular-season against Chestnut Hill on Nov. 14.
