Chris Faix - ECAC

Chris Faix Named Division II All-ECAC

CAPE COD, Mass. - West Chester University senior offensive lineman Chris Faix was named to the 2011 Division II All-ECAC Football Squad it was announced by that organization Tuesday afternoon.

Faix, a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Golden Rams, appeared all 11 games this fall for the gridiron gang. West Chester's offense ranked seventh in the PSAC. The Rams ranked ninth against the run and seventh against the pass. Faix was also named All-PSAC East second team at the conclusion of the football season.

The senior offensive tackle blocked for sophomore running back Rondell White, who placed seventh in the conference in all-purpose yards and 100th in the nation in rushing. Faix appeared in 46 games during his college career, starting all but one of those contests.

Fellow PSAC standout, Trevor Kennedy of Mercyhurst, was voted the ECAC Division II player of the year. His teammate, Ian Wild, was a co-defensive player of the year while C.W. Post quarterback, Steven Laurino, was named the offensive rookie of the year. A total of 14 PSAC athletes were represented on the 2011 ECAC all-star squad, including four of the five offensive linemen. Nine of the honorees on offense came from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
