NEW YORK - Former West Chester University wide receiver Dan DePalma signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets it was announced by general manager, Mike Tannenbaum late Wednesday evening.
DePalma was one of 10 undrafted free agents to be signed by the Jets Wednesday. There were two other wide receivers among the signees.
The Verona, N.J. native caught 50 passes for 962 yards and nine touchdowns a year ago. He caught 95 passes for 1,794 yards and 18 TDs in two seasons as a wide receiver for the Golden Rams. His sophomore season, DePalma intercepted four passes, had six passes defensed and made 23 tackles as a defensive back. He returned one interception for a touchdown and als brought back a punt return for a TD as well in 2008.
The New York Jets officially begin their 2011 training camp on Monday, Aug. 1, at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, N.J. This marks the first time the Jets will host training camp at the team headquarters.
Players will check in on Sunday, July 31, and take the field for the first time the next day. The first practice open to the public is Tuesday, Aug. 2. Look for times of practices in the coming days on www.newyorkjets.com.
