Freshman Conor Malarney Named PSAC Athlete Of Week

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University freshman men's soccer player Conor Malarney was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) player of the week it was announced by the loop on Tuesday afternoon.

Malarney becomes the first athlete of the week in the conference's first week of awards. The freshman striker scored three goals in leading the Golden Rams to the championship of its very own WCU Fall Classic this past weekend. Sunday's 5-2 victory came over the 15th-ranked team in the country, Wilmington (Del.). For his efforts, Malarney was named the tournament's most valuable player.

Malarney scored the game-winning goal on Saturday in a 5-1 win over Goldey-Beacom. Malarney netted the game's first two goals in that contest, delivering head coach Kendall Walkes his 200th career win along the sidelines.

West Chester travels to Lock Haven University on Wednesday afternoon for its first conference game of the season. A live video stream of the contest can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. Game time is set for 2 p.m. with the women's game to follow.
