Navy Spring Invitational - Final Round
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - West Chester University finished seventh at the Navy Spring Invitational held at the Naval Golf Course on the base of the United States Naval Academy that played to a par-71 and totaled 6,528 yards.
West Chester shot a 616 as a team. Host Navy won the invitational with a 36-hole total 592. Patriot League rival Bucknell was second with a 596 and Ivy League foe Columbia was third with a 602. Lafayette was fourth (603), St. Francis of Pa. fifth (605) and St. Bonaventure sixth (610).
Navy's Ben Hayes was the individual winner, carding a two-round total 142 that was even par. West Chester's Doug Brooks tied for 18th with a 10-over par 152. Steve Minnick was tied for 28th, signing for a 153 while Derek Glaser shot a 154 to tie for 32nd. Griffith Basehore tied for 47th with a 157.
Millersville, the only other Division II school in the 21-team field, placed 15th with a team score of 637.
