CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University women’s Track & Field team produced a strong outing at the Widener Invitational on a blustery Saturday afternoon.
Katie Butler tied for second place in high jump five feet, 1inch ¾. Butler finished in sixth place in the women’s 100m hurdles 16.72. Brigid Gallagher ran a 16.02 in the 100m hurdles, and Amiee Sitch followed behind Gallagher 17:13.
Melinda Wentz finished sixth in the 400m dash 1:01.42. Wentz leaped to a third place finish in long jump, with a jump of 16 feet, 11 inches ½. Wentz finished in fifth place in high jump 4 feet, 11 inches ¾. Danielle Howell finished second in the 400m hurdles 1:07.70. Gallagher followed Howell in the 400m hurdles finishing fourth 1:08.96.
Brittany Foye took third place in women’s triple jump 34 feet, 9 inches ¾. Miriam Hughes was fourth 34 feet, 5 inches ½.
Lyndsey Ratasiewicz finished fifth in the 1500m 4:47.97. Ratasiewicz took fifth place in the 800m 2:23.06. Mary Gawbill ran a 2:24.92 and Lindsay Nygren was 2:25.38.
The 4x400m relay clocked a time of 4:12.62 finishing second. The team consisted of Gallagher, Howell, Ratasiewicz, and Gawbill.
