CHESTER, Pa. – Melinda Wentz won the 400m hurdles and placed second in the 110m hurdles to lead West Chester’s women’s track & field team at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Widener University.
Wentz broke the tape in 1:05.86 in the 400m hurdles and clocked a 15.92 in the 110m hurdles. Katie Butler was fourth in the 110m hurdles with a 16.65. Lyndsey Nygren finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a 1:08.62.
Butler tied for first in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 3 ¾ inches. Brittany Foye tied for fifth in the long jump, reaching 15-10 ½. She was runner-up in the triple jump with a 34-10 ¼. Miriam Hughes placed in a tie for fifth in the long jump (15-10 ½) and was third in the triple jump (34-4).
Kamber Schrann was runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet even.
