PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - West Chester University recorded its season-high team score in its final regular-season competition of the 2009-10 campaign. However, it was not enough to overcome host Penn in a 189.950-182.300 women's gymnastic meet Wednesday evening.
West Chester's final tune-up for the ECAC Championships was a rousing success, especially on the balance beam where the Golden Rams scored a 46.550 with a number of season-bests from the gymnasts. It marked just the second time this winter that West Chester cracked the 180 plateau on the team scoreboard.
Rachel Pearson and Melissa Filer each scored a 9.425 while Megan Snyder registered a 9.375. Alli Aquila scored a 9.5 on the vault to lead West Chester's contingent in that event as well.
West Chester will be back in action at the end of the month when the Golden Rams travel to the ECAC Championships.
