SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Derek Glaser is tied for 13th overall and Griffith Basehore tied for 16th after the first round of the St. James Plantation Invitational on a par-72 course that plays to 6,374 yards Saturday afternoon.
West Chester is currently in seventh place after the first round with a team score of 330. Indiana (Pa.), who has a threesome that tied for the lowest round of the day at 75, is leading with a 306 score.
Early fog and 20-25 mph winds challenged the college golfers all afternoon. However, Glaser shot a 79 on the first day of the tournament, followed by Basehore with an 80, to pace the Golden Rams’ effort.
The final round of the tournament will be played Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
