2010 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming & Diving Championships - Day Two Results
CANTON, Ohio – Senior Jackie Borkowski brought home her second individual national championship in as many days with a win in the 200-yard freestyle at the 2010 NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships inside C.T. Branin Natatorium Thursday night.
West Chester is in third place after two days with 155.5 points. Drury still leads with 343 points, followed by Wayne State with 241 points.
Borkowski swam a 1:49.31 in the finals of the 200 free to capture her second national title. Regularly a sprinter, Borkowski swam the middle distance event while giving up a spot on one of West Chester’s qualifying relay teams. That decision paid off with another national championship to her growing resume of accomplishments in one of the most decorated college swimming careers at West Chester University.
Borkowski also helped the 200 free relay team finish fourth with a time of 1:34.78. Megan Bauer, Erin Fischer and Kristen Montello made up the rest of that team.
Fischer won an individual All-America certificate in the 100 butterfly, touching fifth with a time of 55.88 seconds.
