Day Three Results
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. –West Chester University’s men’s swim team continued its dominance at the 2010 PSAC Men’s Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School with four more conference titles to show for its efforts Saturday.
West Chester has compiled 553 points through 13 events and leads second-place Clarion, who has amassed 441.5 points. Shippensburg is in third with 339.5.
The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Tommy Rhoads, Kenny McCormick, David Smoker and Max Bernardes was a winner in 6:50.82. McCormick also won his second individual crown with a win in the 400 individual medley (3:55.75). He set his second meet record in as many days with that time in the 400 IM. Teammate Brendan Magarity was second in 4:05.30.
The 200 medley relay team of Calvin Starosta, Peter Madueno, Eric Kunzman and Brendan Fanslau also touched the wall first in 1:32.84. Starosta was an individual winner in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.99.
West Chester took second and third in both the 200 free and the 100 breaststroke, showing the Golden Rams’ depth on the roster.
West Chester heads into Day Four of the conference championships with its 12th straight conference title in sight.
