Day One Results
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Three-time defending PSAC champion West Chester University placed three swimmers in the top six of the 1,000-yard freestyle to take an early lead at the 2010 PSAC Women’s Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School Thursday night.
West Chester compiled 50 points in that one event to take the early lead in the team standings. Shippensburg is second with 38 points and Kutztown is third with 30.
Kristen Montello took first place, winning the conference title, with a time of 10 minutes, 14.00 seconds that places her third all-time at WCU in that event. Teammate Danielle Ierley was right behind Montello with a clocking of 10:14.77. That time is fourth all-time at WCU. Gina Agro placed sixth in the 1000 free with a time of 10:26.07. Her time is the 10th fastest in WCU history.
The PSAC Championships continue Friday with the first full day of multiple events. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with the finals and consolation finals slated for the evening at 6 p.m.
