Day One Results
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Eleven-time defending PSAC champion West Chester University captured the top two spots of the 1,000-yard freestyle to take an early lead at the 2010 PSAC Men’s Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School Thursday night.
West Chester compiled 39 points in that one event to take the early lead in the team standings. Shippensburg is second with 31 points and Edinboro is third with 25.
Freshman Tommy Rhoads, a relative newcomer to the 1000 free, posted a time of 9:27.96 to win his first conference crown. Senior teammate Max Bernardes touched just after Rhoads in 9:36.05.
The PSAC Championships continue Friday with the first full day of multiple events. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with the finals and consolation finals slated for the evening at 6 p.m.
