2010 PSAC Men's & Women's Swimming Championships Tournament Central
Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Three-time defending PSAC champion West Chester University heads back to Cumberland Valley High School this weekend as a strong favorite to bring back the school’s fourth consecutive women’s swimming conference crown, fifth in the last six years, and eighth team title overall.
The PSAC Men’s & Women’s Swimming Championships are slated to take place Thursday, Feb. 18 through Sunday, Feb. 21. Tickets to the 2010 PSAC Women’s Swimming Championships can be purchased at the gate upon arrival at Cumberland Valley High School. A single-session ticket to the preliminary rounds is $5 while a single-session ticket to the finals is $7. Spectators can purchase an all-session pass, good for the entire weekend, for $35. Students from PSAC member institutions are admitted free when they present their valid school ID. All other students can purchase single-session passes for $2 and an all-session pass for $10.
Leading the way for West Chester is all-American senior Jackie Borkowski, last year’s female swimmer of the meet. She is the defending conference champion in three events and is part of two relay teams that are also defending their titles. She will most likely swim three individual events and take part in four relays to reach her maximum of seven entries this weekend.
Junior Erin Fischer is another returning champion. She took first place in the both the 200-yard butterfly and the 400 individual medley a year ago. She will look to defend both titles again at Cumberland Valley High School.
Meanwhile, the 400 free relay and 800 free relay return all four swimmers from a year ago when the Golden Rams claimed first place in both events.
