2009 All-PSAC Women's Volleyball Squad
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Four West Chester University volleyball players were named to the 2009 PSAC East volleyball team. Helen Fitzpatrick and Michelle Powers were each first team all-league picks while Lisa Campbell and Lexi Kegerise were named to the second team.
West Chester (23-15, 8-11 PSAC East) finished tied for third place in the Eastern Division and was the fourth seed in the PSAC Tournament, falling to Eastern Division champion Lock Haven in the first round.
Powers, making her third appearance on the all-league squad, led West Chester in kills (308) and hitting percentage (.297). She ranked fifth in the conference in hitting percentage as well. Powers was a second team All-PSAC East pick in 2008, after suffering an injury and missing the final 12 games. She was PSAC East rookie of the year and a first team selection her freshman year.
Fitzpatrick transferred into West Chester University's program from the University of Delaware and won the starting spot as the Golden Rams' setter. She placed seventh in the PSAC in assists (1,039) and eighth in assists per set (8.12).
Campbell makes her first appearance on the all-league squad after leading the Golden Rams in digs (567) and digs per set (4.47). The sophomore libero was sixth in the conference in digs and seventh in digs per set. She also placed fourth in the conference in service aces with 59.
Kegerise was one of the more dominant freshmen in the PSAC in 2009. The first-year collegian posted 294 kills and registered a .230 hitting percentage.
