Men’s Swimming In Third Place After Day Two At Terrapin Cup Invite

Day Two Results

COLLEGE PARK, Md.
– West Chester University’s men’s swim team posted nine Top 8 finishes in seven different events and currently sits in third place after the second day of competition at the Terrapin Cup Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland. 

Host Maryland leads the field of eight with 777.5 points. Connecticut is second with 698 points. West Chester is ahead of Villanova, Towson, Richmond, Johns Hopkins and William & Mary.
 
West Chester’s 200-yard medley relay was a runner-up finisher with a time of 1 minute, 32.38 seconds. That team consisted of Calvin Starosta, Kenny McCormick, Phil Letcavage and Ryan Stahley. McCormick also finished runner-up individually in the 400 Individual medley with a time of 3:59.69. Brendan Magarity was seventh in the 4:07.51. McCormick also finished third in the 100 breaststroke (57.10), just ahead of Bud McClernan in fourth (57.85).

Letcavage, McCormick, Stahley and Tommy Rhoads comprised the 800 freestyle relay team that placed fifth overall with a time of 6:56.17. Rhoads placed fourth individually in the 200 free (1:40.60).

Day three of the Terrapin Cup Invitational gets underway with prelims at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Finals begin at 6 p.m.
