Delaware Valley Invitational Results
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Glenna Champion paced West Chester University’s women’s cross country team with a fifth-place finish overall as the Golden Rams put two runners in the Top 10 and captured the Delaware Valley College Invitational Saturday morning.
West Chester’s 70 points beat out Franklin & Marshall in second place (71) by the narrowest of margins. Ursinus was third with 72 points.
Champion crossed the line in 24 minutes, 38.65 seconds, recording the fastest time on this course in over six years. Freshman Kristina Koutsouros placed eighth in 25:00.4 while Lyndsey Ratasiewicz was 13th in 25:57.36. Laura Carnes placed 21st overall individually with a time of 26:46.79. All four times were among the top 10 fastest run at this course.
Freshmen Tina Furlong (27:02.67), Rachel Wynn (27:51.33), Amanda Geary (29:52.77) and Jules Connelly (30:28.91) were all impressive in their first college meets. All placed in the top 90 runners out of 155 total participants. Furlong placed 29th, Wynn 50th, Geary 80th and Connelly 87th.
West Chester will run in the Lock Haven Invitational next Saturday.
