WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Division II Athletic Director’s Association, a part of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, announced its academic honor roll recently. Included among the group of honorees were 64 student-athletes from West Chester University.
West Chester University boasts the second-most student athletes honored in the country with its 64 representatives.
“We are excited that we almost doubled the scholar-athletes that were nominated from a year ago and want to thank those colleges and universities that took part in honoring its student-athletes,” stated Division II ADA president Dr. Edward Matejkovic, director of athletics at West Chester University. “We look forward to more participation in the future and want to congratulate this year’s winners.”
Now in its second year of recognizing academic excellence across Division II, West Chester University women’s soccer player, Jessica Bennett, holds a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA after four semesters in college. Tennis player, Teresa Grasso, has a 3.99 GPA.
To be eligible for the D2 ADA Academic Honor Roll a student must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better, have completed at least three full semesters at the collegiate level and must have been a member of the team for which they are recognized at the conclusion of the academic school year.
