2009 Division II Women's Lacrosse All-ECAC Team
CAPE COD, Mass. – Senior midfielders Courtney Whiting and Gina DiDomenicis were both named to the 2009 Division II Women’s Lacrosse All-ECAC squad it was announced by the conferece recently.
Both Whiting and DiDomenicis are making their first appearance on the all-conference team.
Whiting led West Chester (14-3) to another undefeated season in league play and a spot in the conference championship game. She tied Jackie Baker for the team lead in goals scored this spring with 46 while placing third overall in the scoring with 59 points. Whiting potted five game-winning goals and ranked second on the team with 33 caused turnovers. The Golden Rams held a 285-149 advantage in draw controls thanks to the center-mid’s faceoff skills. Whiting grabbed 45 ground balls and led the squad with 74 draw controls.
The local product was also named first team IWLCA All-America, first team IWLCA All-South Region, first team All-PSAC East and the PSAC Eastern Division player of the year this spring.
DiDomenicis was the individual securing most of Whiting’s draws for the sixth-ranked Golden Rams this past season. She ranked second on the team in ground balls (47) and draw controls (40) while listing tied for third in caused turnovers (27). The four-time PSAC all-leaguer also finished eighth on the team in scoring with 18 goals and 22 points in her final season.
DiDomenicis was second team IWLCA All-America, first team IWLCA All-South Region along with her first team All-PSAC East nod.
