Erin MacNamee Named All-ECAC
Erin MacNamee

CAPE COD, Mass. – West Chester University sophomore outfielder Erin MacNamee added yet another postseason plaudit to her resume this week when the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All-ECAC Division II softball squad.

MacNamee, a PSAC East first team selection, Daktronics, Inc., first team all-region pick, NFCA first team all-region pick and NFCA second team All-American, scooped up her fifth postseason award this week after leading West Chester (28-20) to its second straight NCAA Regional appearance in as many years.

The Golden Rams’ left fielder and leadoff batter ranked fifth in the PSAC in hitting with her .430 batting average. That mark is the highest single-season average in school history. Only MacNamee and former Golden Ram Beth Fry (2001) have registered a season batting average better than .400 at WCU.

MacNamee broke five single-season school records during the 2009 campaign. She now holds the WCU standards for runs scored (55), hits (65) triples (8) and total bases (109). Her .522 on-base percentage is the second-highest single-season average behind Fry’s .539 in 2001. They are the only two in school history to reach base better than 50 percent of the time in a season. MacNamee led the PSAC in triples while placing second in runs scored, third in hits and fifth in total bases.
