Melissa LeNoir Named All-Region By NFHCA
TOWSON, Md. – West Chester University freshman forward Melissa LeNoir was named a 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region second team pick it was announced by the coaches’ association recently.
LeNoir authored an outstanding freshman campaign, scoring 10 goals and posting 23 points in 17 games this fall. She potted two game-winning goals to boot, placing ninth in the conference in scoring overall. She also ranked seventh in the conference in goals scored. LeNoir was named the A-10 player of the week the first week of the season and copped four rookie of the week honors throughout the fall.
It marks the third such postseason honor for the freshman phenom. LeNoir was also named first team All-Atlantic 10 as well as being selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team.
West Chester finished 8-10 overall on the year and 3-3 in the conference, tied for fourth place in the league standings.
